A new Wimpy restaurant that was told it needed to make "major" improvements by food safety inspectors has been reinspected - and now has the highest hygiene rating possible.
The new Aylesbury branch of Wimpy was recently handed a one food hygiene rating, meaning "major improvement is necessary".
The 140-seat restaurant had only opened its doors in the Hale Leys Shopping Centre in mid-April - so the rating was a "disappointment" for the company.
But after a reinspection on June 21, the burger chain is celebrating being given the highest hygiene rating of five.
A spokesman for Wimpy said: “We are thrilled to have been given 5 stars and feel these really reflect the very high standards kept by the team.
"Hygiene and food safety are our absolute priorities and we are delighted to be able to shout about our new rating.”
