Emergency services were called to the M40 after a car ended up in a ditch after leaving the road.
Fire crews were called to the motorway between Loudwater (junction 3) and High Wycombe (junction 4) at 4:41am on Sunday (June 26) to rescue the injured man.
The man was handed into the care of South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) whilst the scene was made safe.
Lanes one and two of the motorway were closed whilst services dealt with the incident.
Thames Valley Police (TVP) and National Highways also attended the scene.
The Bucks Free Press has approached SCAS and TVP for comment.
