A MUSIC-MAD couple are so keen to see their favourite band play in Amersham next month they are flying all the way from San Francisco.
Greg and Andrea Ogarrio are currently putting the finishing touches to a planned five-day visit to Britain, which is based around their trip to see London band The Rapiers play at the Polish Club in Raans Road, Amersham.
The band will be performing in their 25th anniversary concert at the club on Saturday March 22.
Mr Ogarrio said: "Simply, the Saturday night affair is worth flying 5,000 miles.
"Call me nuts, call me single-minded, but The Rapiers revisit all that's best and brightest about 60s English rock 'n' roll.
"One of the true highlights of visiting England every 12 to 18 months for this Anglophile is the chance to see The Rapiers.
"It's like stepping through a space time continuum to 1962 England every time I see them."
The American added the Amersham Rock n' Roll Club, which is based at the Polish Club, was one of his favourite places to listen to live music.
More details on the concert can be obtained from the Club 01494 727173 or via its website, www.amershamrocknrollclub.co.uk.
The Club will also be holding a raffle in aid of the Iain Rennie Hospice at Home registered charity.
