A man who was wrongly accused of being a terrorist eventually found justice thanks to the hard work of a High Wycombe lawyer.
Bilal Tanveer, a solicitor with firm Morgan Has, was part of the legal team representing a Belgian man in his late forties who was charged with being involved in terrorism training.
The Bucks Free Press is choosing not to reveal the man's name.
The man had been accused of taking part in terrorist training and bring part of a terror organisation when he was photographed at a camp of the Partiya Karkeren Kurdistani (PKK), which translates as the Kurdistan Workers’ Party.
The PKK is on the UK Government’s proscribed terrorist groups list.

The authorities believed that the man had been taking part in terror-related activities at the camp, but the reality was he was there on behalf of the Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) – a non-violent organisation - and was involved in peace talks.
After taking on the case, the Morgan Has legal team went to Belgium to set out to prove the man’s innocence, meeting his colleagues at the KNK, interviewing witnesses and putting together huge amounts of evidence proving his peaceful intentions.
Thanks to this due diligence and hard work by the firm, led by director Ali Has, the prosecution decided not to offer any evidence in their case against him, leading him to being acquitted of the charges.
After the verdict, Mr Tanveer spoke of his pride in his firm.

He said: “The amount of hard work put into this case was remarkable, we really specialise in that sort of defence.
“I have worked with other firms but at Morgan Has they go a mile above for their clients.
“I’m so passionate about my job and always want to go above and beyond for the clients.”
Mr Tanveer went on to praise his upbringing in High Wycombe, where he grew up and went to Downley School, and still lives today.
The 31-year-old said that he hoped he could start giving back to his community.
