A vehicle fire and "substantial" fuel spillage is causing delays on the M40 this afternoon.
Traffic had to be stopped on the southbound carriageway between junction 6 for Lewknor and junction 5 for Stokenchurch following the fire, which is believed to have involved a white van.
All three lanes are currently closed and there is now at least four miles of congestion on the approach.
At least four fire engines were seen heading to the scene to tackle the flames.
National Highways says the van fire happened shortly after 1.30pm and there are long delays, now up to 90 minutes.
Road users are advised to follow the hollow circle diversion symbol on road signs:
- Exit the M40 at J6 onto the B4009
- Turn right on to A40
- Continue on the A40 and rejoin the M40 at J5
More as we get it.
