A parish council has hit out at the "appalling" bin collection service that has left their tourist attraction village filled with smelly rubbish bags.
West Wycombe Parish Council has waded into an ongoing argument over bin collections - or a lack of - that have caused chaos across the county.
Although Buckinghamshire Council has apologised for the missed collections, which have primarily affected the south of the county, problems have persisted.
Cllr Gareth Williams, the cabinet member for climate change and the environment, said problems had happened because intelligence had not been passed on from old crews to new crews.
West Wycombe Parish Council clerk Sharon Henson said in an open letter to Cllr Williams that they have been trying for "over a month" to get a regular and accurate waste collection in the area.
She said it is simply unacceptable, particularly as West Wycombe is a major hotspot with tourists visiting Dashwood Hill, the mausoleum and West Wycombe caves.
She wrote: "Many of the roads in our parish have suffered from a lack of collection and there is no sign of this improving, however the worst case currently is the actual village consisting of the High Street, Church Lane and Towerage Lane.
"We are a tourist attraction with hundreds of visitors to our Caves, West Wycombe Park and St Lawrence Church and the Mausoleum.
"Since Monday our residents have had either there purple sacks or their green sacks and recycling bags sitting outside their front doorsteps and on the pavement.
"In this current hot weather they are all beginning to smell and quite frankly the service we are supposed to be getting is a disgrace.
"Ironic that this appalling service has occurred at the same time as all our residents are notified of a charge to be made in July for green waste.
"Currently our residents deserve a refund of their council tax.
"Until the change of contract we had a good and regular service. Why are certain areas missed out? Why does the same community have different collections on the same day?"
She urged someone from Buckinghamshire Council to visit the area to see "for themselves the situation they are dealing with and creating".
Bucks Council said they are "taking every action to restore a good bin collection service, saying they were "sorry if you are currently affected".
They urged anyone who has had a missed collection to report it online within 24 hours at www.buckinghamshire.gov.uk/waste-and-recycling/report-a-missed-bin-collection/
