YOUNG people will share their views on where they live as part of a new scheme to represent them.
Beaconsfield teenagers aged between 13 and 19 will be asked to organise events for a youth council being set up in the south Bucks town.
Sarah Wood, a senior youth worker for Buckinghamshire County Council, who is leading the project said: "It's a way of getting young people involved in local communities.
"The first thing will be to identify issues. If there is not enough things for them to do they might organise events.
"It's so important because councils often meet and talk about young people but for once young people are coming up with things for themselves."
The group will work closely with existing organisations including Beaconsfield Neighbourhood Action Group (NAG) and Beaconsfield Town Council.
A consultation evening for young people will be held towards the end of this month or early March with the object of forming a ten to 12 member council, she added.
NAG chairman Andre de Marsac said: "Any initiative to liaise more closely with the young people of Beaconsfield to get a better understanding of their needs and what action can be taken bringing the two factions together can only be for the good."
