A teenage girl from High Wycombe has won a prestigious writing award.
Clara Copeman, who’s in Year 9 at Wycombe High School, received the winning after taking part in the Young Writers Organisation’s ‘Twisted Tales’ contest, which promotes poetry and creative writing around the world.
The teen was one of more than 21,000 people who took part, and was one of five winners nationally.
Benytta Doman, the school’s Literacy Learning teacher, said: “It’s absolutely brilliant.
“Clara has worked very hard to achieve this award and I am incredibly thrilled for her.
“To be selected as a winner in a competition which had 21,000 student entries, is outstanding.”
On her accolade, Clara said: “When I found out I had won I was excited and delighted!”
