A fountain in Amersham Old Town was revealed after its big revamp.
The fountain in the heart of Old Town greets visitors to the Memorial Gardens but the “leaking pond and tired fountain” were in need of care for public to enjoy more than ever, Amersham Town Council said.
Mark Dormer, councillor and Chair of the Amersham and Villages Community Board and former Town Mayor, councillor Mark Flys officially unveiled the new fountain and revamped pond – including its resident fish – at the Jubilee concert on June 3.
Councillor Dormer said: "The beautiful Memorial Gardens are the beating heart of the Old Town and the challenges of lockdown cemented their importance to our community. It was therefore only fitting that we had a stunning fountain to complement the beautiful surroundings."
The Town Council expressed their gratitude for the depot team for installing the fountain, the Amersham & Villages Community Board, Old Amersham Revite and Mark Flys for supporting the project through his mayor’s fund.
A tweet below shows what the fountain looked like in 2013.
