A popular pub wants to expand its outdoor drinking area to boost year-round trade.
Stonegate Pub Company has submitted to Bucks Council fresh plans to extend the outdoor areas of The Three Horseshoes in Flackwell Heath.
Plans outline the construction of a single-storey rear extension to create extra seating space, and a new lobby area.
A new timber-framed pergola will also be built on to the front outdoor seating area.
No additional parking spaces are proposed.
The pub is 19th-Century and has in its time received various additions and extensions to its side and rear.
“By introducing covered, heated external areas, the proposal will allow for trade all year round creating a much more inviting atmosphere and will accommodate the need for increased sales,” a planning statement reads.
“We feel […] that the proposed works do not have any detrimental impact on the buildings or surrounding area and are a necessary step for the continued survival of such an important local building and business.”
The applicant is now awaiting a decision from the council.
