The M40 will be closed overnight from 10pm every day this week as the overhead signs get some maintenance.
Essential technology works will be carried out on the M40 between junction 1 for Denham and junction 2 for Beaconsfield from Monday, June 6, to Friday, June 10.
The motorway will be closed in both directions from 10pm until 5am each day.
National Highways explained: "We are carrying out essential technology maintenance work on the M40 between junction 1 and 2.
"This will ensure that our digital message display boards continue to provide drivers with the latest travel advice so they can have safe and smooth journeys."
Westbound traffic will be diverted to take the A40 at junction 1 to the London Road roundabout, then the A355 southbound to re-join the M40 at junction 2.
Eastbound traffic will follow the same diversion route but in reverse.
M25 traffic looking to join the M40 will exit at junction 17, then take the A412 Denham Way south to join the diversion on the A40.
M40 traffic looking to join the M25 will do this in reverse.
