A popular pub will close its doors at the end of the Jubilee Bank Holiday to ‘undergo a six-figure renovation.’
The Boot & Slipper, which is based on Rickmansworth Road in Amersham, will see its garden area get an upgrade with an expansion.
It is hoped that once the makeover is complete, the outdoor space will be large enough to hold nearly 300 people in its vicinity.

An outdoor bar and new furniture will also be installed.
The interior of the pub will also be changed with a new colour scheme being implemented.
The renovation is due to last for around a month, with the Boot & Slipper hoping to reopen its doors at the start of July.
Ben Horn, General Manager of the Boot & Slipper, said: “The Boot & Slipper is such a historic pub and was once a hub for the region’s thriving boot trade.
"There was even a cobbler located on the site in the past, hence the unusual name.
“Although we’re closing this weekend, we won’t be gone long!
"We’ll be reopening at the start of July, and we’re looking forward to welcoming new and regular guests back to experience our brand new al fresco dining experience, new drinks menu and more.”
The announcement also marks a recruitment boost for the local community, with the Boot & Slipper currently looking to hire a number of Front and Back of House staff ahead of the summer. To apply, please send your CV to 6127@greeneking.co.uk.
