The MP for Chesham and Amersham has called for the Prime Minister to step down.
Sarah Green, the Liberal Democrat MP, made the demand following the publication of Sue Gray report into the suspected ‘partygate’ Covid rule-breaking at No 10 Downing Street during one of the strictest lockdowns in the country.
People were stopped from socialising outside their homes during the height of the pandemic, including visiting sick loved ones at hospital or accompanying partners to labour wards.

Ms Green commented: “The Prime Minister has created a culture of arrogance and impunity at the heart of government.
“The shameful reports of the lack of respect and poor treatment of security and cleaning staff at Number 10 illustrate this.
“The pictures of the Prime Minister drinking and partying while the rest of the country missed out on precious time with loved ones speak for themselves. The bottom line is that the Prime Minister broke the law. He should have resigned months ago, and he must resign now.”
Now, Boris Johnson is facing a fresh challenge to his leadership after Sir Graham Brady, the chairman of the 1922 Committee, confirmed a vote of no confidence tonight between 6pm and 8pm.
The result will be announced later today after the secret ballot.
