Fire crews descended on a High Wycombe supermarket yesterday evening as shoppers were evacuated.
ASDA in Crest Road had to be evacuated for safety reasons after a "small electrical fault" caused smoke to set off the fire alarm.
Shoppers told the Bucks Free Press there were four fire engines on the scene.
It happened at around 5.45pm on Monday evening (May 23).
The store reopened after ASDA staff and fire crews identified the fault.
An ASDA spokesman said: "An electrical fault at our High Wycombe store yesterday evening caused our fire alarms to trigger and as a precaution we evacuated the store until we were able to identify the problem.
"The store reopened shortly afterwards and we apologise for any inconvenience caused."
Bucks Fire and Rescue were called at 5.41pm.
One crew from High Wycombe, one from Beaconsfield, one from Maidenhead and one from Windsor Tinkers Lane attended, along with an officer.
A computer server room was smoke logged.
