A man carrying a large pole was seen trying to strike a member of the public with it in a Bucks town.
At 5.30pm on Sunday, a man was seen carrying the weapon in St Ledgers Court, Milton Keynes.
According to police, he used the pole to threaten another person, waving it around and trying to strike his victim.
A 33-year-old man from Milton Keynes has been arrested on suspicion of affray and possessing an offensive weapon in connection with the incident. He has been released on police bail until June 18.
Investigating officer PC Sophia Matthews, based at Milton Keynes police station, said: “I am appealing for anybody who believes that they witnessed this incident, or who may have dash-cam or CCTV footage to please contact Thames Valley Police, either online or by calling 101, quoting reference number 43220221255.
“Alternatively, you can also call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
