A LECTURER has turned movie director to document the 40-year history of one of Britain's most popular folk bands.
Mike Rowbottom, who teaches journalism at Buckinghamshire New University, has put together a DVD on Fairport Convention.
Fairport at Forty' has been released to co-incide with the group's winter tour, which comes to Wycombe Swan tonight.
The film documents last year's 40th birthday celebrations for the group, whose former members include Richard Thompson and Sandy Denny.
Celebrities Lulu, Jools Holland and Frank Skinner are among those who pay tribute to the group in the film.
