HOLMER Green golfer Dan Willans is calling on fellow enthusiasts to join a charity day to raise money for Cancer Research UK in memory of his mother.
Dan, of Orchard Way, plays regularly at Wycombe Heights Golf Club in Loudwater where he aims to raise £3,500 for the charity during a golf day on May 6, before he continues his fundraising by walking Peru's Inca Trail four days later.
His mother, Cynthia, died of bone cancer in October last year, aged 64. The self-employed financial adviser who lives at Orchard Way, Holmer Green, said: "I'm a relative newcomer to golf, but I love it.
"It'll be a fun day and I would encourage anyone who would like to enjoy a great day's golf and help the important work of Cancer Research UK to enter."
The day is open to individuals and teams and includes breakfast, 18-holes on the main course, lunch, a round on the par-three course and dinner.
Entries are £55 per person, including £10 donation to Cancer Research UK. To enter, email: danwillans@thinkpositive.co.uk
