‘ONE of the most haunted pubs in Bucks’ will see a bit of its car park turned into a beer garden as part of a revamp.
Bucks Council has granted conditional permission to Greene King for a series of alterations to the Boot and Slipper in Amersham.
The new scheme includes a veranda attached to the side of the pub, and another detached veranda and outbuilding to the rear of the property.
It also includes a part-conversion of the car park to a garden with four pergolas and some decorative planters.
It follows a variation of a premises licence recently granted by Bucks Council to the aptly named Spirit Pub Company Limited, a company Greene King acquired in 2015.
Spirit Pub Company must honour certain conditions on the new licence, including a Noise Management Plan.
The licence was also considered in light of wider planned refurbishment works.
The pub is considered locally as “one of the most haunted buildings in Buckinghamshire”, according to its website.
