A dog was rescued after it was nearly hit by vehicles on a busy roundabout in High Wycombe.
Police were called to assist after worried passers-by saw the dog running around at the bottom of Marlow Hill on Thursday morning.
One member of the public said the terrified dog was nearly hit by several vehicles on the busy roundabout.
But officers from nearby High Wycombe police station stepped in to help and the dog - named George - was reunited with his worried owner.
Thames Valley Police Wycombe said: "This morning officers from Team 4 were called to a dog running loose around the magic roundabout.
"The mischievous pup (George) has been successfully reunited with his owner, and will presumably be spending a few nights in the dog house."
