WYCOMBE Winter Night Shelter for the homeless has received a cash boost of £1,000 from the Buckinghamshire Foundation.
The shelter, run by seven High Wycombe churches on each night of the week, offers meals and accommodation to people living out on the street. Volunteers try to guide them in ways of getting back on their feet.
The donation was made after the shelter applied to the foundation for a contribution towards the estimated £20,000 cost of running the shelter for three months.
Bill Reid, member of the grants panel said: "The shelter is absolutely superb. I must stress that it is run entirely by volunteers who provide a meal, overnight accommodation and washing facilities, and breakfast to the homeless."
