The much-waited KFC opens its shop doors today in Amersham after months-long delay and mystery.
Located in the former Lloyds TSB building, the new Amersham KFC on Sycamore Road serves customers seven days a week between 11am and 11pm.
Fans of fried chicken were able to try food for free at a ‘soft launch’ yesterday (May 17).
Today (May 18) the shop is set to open at 1pm, staff outside the shop told.
A KFC spokesperson said: “Fear not people of Amersham - the wait is almost over!
“We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to open a shiny new restaurant, bringing over 40 new jobs and delicious fried chicken to the local area.

“We’ll be open from May 18, so come on down and get a taste of our famous finger lickin’ chicken.”
A search for Amersham KFC jobs revealed positions for ‘team members’ for daytime and evening shifts and for a cook.
On the opening day morning, the shop showed up on Google Maps, but still appeared as 'temporarily closed'.
The world-famous chicken shop's first Amersham branch was expected to open in December, but rumoured "electrical issues" delayed it.
Only last week, fire crews attended the shop's construction site because of a fuse box fire, and social media commentators doubted whether the shop would be able to open soon.
