A scammer has been approaching people using a Marlow car park and service road and telling them they must pay a fee - before running off with their bank cards and withdrawing cash.
Thames Valley Police officers have warned about a new scam in the Liston Road area of Marlow.
Apparently, a man has been approaching people using the car park and the service road, advising them that they are parked on double yellow lines and need to pay a fee via the payment machine.
He then reportedly takes the payment card, runs off and withdraws large sums of money from nearby cashpoints.
Police have urged drivers not to engage with the man because he is a scammer.
They said: "Please: DO NOT entertain such conversations with anyone. Official parking wardens are always appropriately dressed in corporate clothing and have official ID badges.
"If in doubt seek advice or call the the number on the car park noticeboard to help check. If in doubt, call the police for advice."
Buckinghamshire Council has previously warned residents not to fall for scams at their car parks.
Last month, they issued an urgent warning about a con man who was pretending to be a parking officer.
The fraudster was reportedly claiming to be a council civil enforcement officer and is telling drivers that the parking machines at different car parks across Wycombe are broken - so they must pay him cash instead.
