The police would like to speak to a woman who may have vital information regarding a theft in Stony Stratford.
Between 3.45pm and 3.55pm on Friday, May 6 in Goran Avenue, which is part of Milton Keynes, a person approached an elderly woman who was walking her dog and asked if she would like any cleaning to be done.
The dogwalker declined the offer and after giving the person a hug, the former noticed that her necklace had been unclasped and taken.
A CCTV image of the person of the police would like to speak to has since been released.
Investigating officer PC Daisy Barton, based at Milton Keynes police station, said: “We would like to appeal to anybody who recognises the woman in this image to please get in touch as we believe they may have information in connection with this incident.
“We would also like to appeal to those within the area with CCTV or doorbell camera footage.
“You can get in touch by either making a report online or by calling 101 quoting reference number 43220195609.
“Alternatively, for 100 per cent anonymity, you can also call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
