A 27-year-old man has been charged with one count of rape in Aylesbury.
Madalin Ionut Martac, of no fixed abode, was charged today (Wednesday, May 11) with the crime and he currently remains in custody.
This is in relation to an incident that happened in the early hours of Sunday, October 10, 2021, when a woman in her 20s was attacked in the churchyard of the town’s St Mary’s Church.

Martac was arrested on Monday, May 9 after being detained at Gatwick Airport and was charged overnight with the offence by Thames Valley Police.
He will appear before High Wycombe Magistrates Court today (Wednesday, May 11).
