A village hall that had its roof blown off by Storm Eunice has finally reopened after two and a half months.
Part of the roof at Hughenden village hall flew off on February 18 as the county was being battered by the devastating storm, which led to the Met Office issuing a rare red weather warning.
The hall's roof crashed into the Hughenden village store and coffee shop while five people were inside, and damage was also caused to the outside seating area and children's park.
The community rallied to help where possible, donating buckets, wheelie bins and even a children's paddling pool to help stop the rain damaging more of the hall.
Now, after months of work to repair the hall roof, which has seen scaffolding erected around the building and metal fences blocking off the car park, the village hall is finally open as of May 3 after a deep clean.
The car park has also now reopened after debris was cleared and potholes filled in.
It is not clear yet when the popular village store - a lifeline for many elderly residents in the village - will be reopen, although in their latest update they said it would be "soon".
The store was unable to safely receive any deliveries of supplies while the village hall car park was out of action.
But new volunteers are also needed to help staff the shop. If you can help out, email shop manager Louise Jones at shopmanager@valleyshop.org.
