The decision to shut High Wycombe's driving test centre in just a few days has been branded "extremely disappointing", as Buckinghamshire Council offers to help the DVSA find a new location for it in the town.
Cllr John Chilver said the council would be "very willing" to help the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency find a new place to base the driving test centre after it was revealed at the end of last week that their landlords at Cliveden Office Village in Lancaster Road had served them notice to leave.

He added that the council had not received any contact from the DVSA about the closure so far.
We have asked the DVSA if they will be taking the council up on their offer and will update this article when we hear back from them.
It is the second time in less than two years that the centre has been facing closure.
A huge - and eventually successful - campaign was mounted towards the end of 2020 to find a new base for the centre after it was deemed that the Wellington Road premises was "not a good use of public money".

A new place was found, preventing the closure - but threats have loomed again.
All driving tests that were booked at High Wycombe have been moved 18 miles away to Slough, but driving instructors have hit out at the decision, saying it was "shameful".
Cllr John Chilver, Buckinghamshire Council's Cabinet Member for Finance, Resources, Property and Assets, told the paper: "It's extremely disappointing to see the proposed closure of the High Wycombe driving test centre, which will clearly be a major inconvenience to learner drivers in the area.
"While we've not as yet had any contact from the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) about the closure, we will of course be very willing to assist them in finding an alternative property in the town."
