Celebrity Jordans homeowners Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne have put forward overhaul plans for their Grade II listed mansion – including a “rehabilitation wing” and a new wildlife pond.

It was rumoured last month that the Black Sabbath rocker, 73, and author and television star wife Sharon, 69, could be eyeing a move back to Welders House, which they have owned since 1993, from LA, where they spend most of their time.

While that move hasn’t been confirmed, plans to add to their Welders Lane estate have been put forward to Buckinghamshire Council.

The new plans, which have been partially redacted for privacy reasons, reveal the celebrity couple want to create a new “rehabilitation east wing” which would be attached to the existing kitchen/gym wing.

It would feature ramps, “discreet grab rails” and non-slip surfaces, as well as a health and welfare exercise studio and the plans also suggest a nurse’s flat will be built on the first floor.

They also want to create a pool house and convert the existing former garage/store and add extra visitor parking to the west side of the mansion.

The existing gym will be extended south and connected to the new pool house by a part-glazed garden room link.

The new “health and wellbeing accommodation” will all be single storey.

According to the plans, the mansion’s existing parking is not sufficient, with the old garage at a “pinch point” on the drive where service and gardening vehicles park to look after the house and gardens – making turning and parking “difficult”.

The couple also want to create a natural lake to encourage wildlife and for the “family to enjoy the rural setting”, as well as three new front dormers and conversion of the attic to living space, and a new rear terrace.

Security is also being ramped up with improvements to the estate’s CCTV system in progress and plans for a taller fence.

The parish council has no objection to the Osbournes’ plans.

Welders House, which is in the Green Belt, was built between 1898 and 1899 by Mervyn Macartney for his father-in-law Charles Thomas Ritchie, a politician who was Home Secretary in 1900 and Chancellor of Exchequer between 1902 and 1903.

It was Grade II listed in 1984 and was sold to the Osbournes in 1993 by special effects expert and two-time Academy award winner John Stears, who had lived there for most of his life.

Sharon reportedly chose Welders House because it was far away from any pubs.

Buckinghamshire Council's planning officers will now make a decision on whether or not to allow the building work to go ahead.
