THE refurbishment of a memorial garden is set for completion soon.
Amersham Town Council said a replacement fountain and upgraded pond in the Memorial Gardens will be finished by May 1, ready for the public.
It said the pond had been leaking and the fountain appeared “tired”, hence the refurb.
It thanked locals for their patience while it improved the popular feature.
“Thank you for your patience while we replace the fountain and refurbish the pond in the Memorial Gardens,” the town council said.
“With a previously leaking pond and a tired fountain, we hope that this popular feature will be enjoyed more than ever once the refurb is complete (by May 1). The fish are looking forward to going back to their upgraded home.
“Great work by the Amersham Town Council Depot Team and a huge thanks to the Amersham and Villages Community Board, Old Amersham Revite Group and past mayor Cllr Mark Flys for supporting the project through his mayor’s fund.”
