NO vehicle traffic will be allowed through Beaconsfield Old Town on these May dates.
All through traffic on the A40 will be temporarily suspended to make way for the iconic Beaconsfield Charter Fair.
The busy Beaconsfield Old Town roundabout will close between Monday May 9 from 4pm until Wednesday May 11 at 6.30am.
The famous Charter Fair has come to town every year since 1269 – even during the first Covid lockdown in May 2020.
At the height of the first pandemic wave, a smaller token version was put on a quiet street.

If a date is ever missed, the Fair can never return, its charter says.
The street party will take place on May 10 with fun fair rides and entertainment on offer. The four roads leading from Beaconsfield Old Town roundabout will be shut for motor traffic.
Beaconsfield’s Aylesbury End B474 will be closed from Horseshoe Crescent up to the roundabout, while Windsor End closes up to south of Hedgerley Lane on the Bucks Council roadwork map.
London End A40 closure stretches from the Old Town roundabout to the London Road roundabout, and Wycombe End is closed up to Factory Yard.
Last year the fair was labelled a ‘bad idea’ because of Covid and already grim traffic gridlocks caused by another road closure.
However, the organisers Showmen's Guild of Great Britain, London and Home Counties insisted the fair was Covid-secure and announced safety measure.
Beaconsfield Charter Fair commented: "It's 754 years of Beaconsfield Charter Fair, so I’m looking forward to the showman lighting up the streets of Beaconsfield once again."
Buckinghamshire Council was contacted for a comment regarding alternative traffic arrangements.
