Police say they are on the scene of a "serious incident" in Bourne End.
Concerned residents noticed a string of police cars arriving in Spring Gardens, off Blind Lane, late last night - and many were kept awake by a police helicopter circling.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing a car park in the area cordoned off and there have been reports of armed officers on the scene last night.
This morning, Orchard House, which is a Red Kite Community Housing sheltered scheme, is still cordoned off, with police and forensic officers still on scene.

Residents told the Bucks Free Press police "kicked in" a back gate to the communal gardens at around 11.50pm last night.
Thames Valley Police told the Bucks Free Press they were unable to provide many details on the incident for now.
A police spokesperson said: “Thames Valley Police is on the scene of a serious incident in Spring Gardens, Bourne End.

“At this stage we are not in a position to provide further comment, but will update as soon as we are able to.
“We do not believe there to be a wider danger to the public at this time.”
A Red Kite spokesman said: "We are aware of an incident at one of our sheltered schemes. We are currently working with the police to help assist with their investigation."
