A man watched a woman enter her PIN when paying for food before stealing her debit card from her and withdrawing a large amount of cash.
That’s what Thames Valley Police say after launching an appeal about a theft at Tesco Broadfields on February 25.
The force said the man watched the victim, who is in her sixties, at the till before following her outside the supermarket.
He distracted her by claiming somebody had scratched her car, and it is believed this is when the man stole woman’s debit card.
Later that day, two men used the stolen card at Argos within Sainsbury’s Gatehouse to withdraw a “large amount of cash.”
Thames Valley Police has now released CCTV images of the two men they want to speak to in connection with this incident.
PC Janine Daniel, based at Aylesbury police station, said: “We are releasing the images of these two men as we believe they may have information that could assist us with our investigation.
“If it is you pictured, or you recognise the men in the image, please get in touch.
“You can report information by calling 101 or visiting our website, quoting reference number 43220085681.
“Alternatively, if you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their website.”
