An air ambulance landed on a Non League club's football pitch following a serious injury that was sustained in a local cup match.
Risborough Rangers, who play their matches at the B.E.P Stadium, took on Long Crendon in their rearranged Gladwish Challenge Trophy fixture on March 22, but the game was paused on 12 minutes.
This was after James Shrimpton, who plays for Crendon, suffered a ‘serious ankle injury’.

Due to the injury to a @LongCrendonFC player and the continued wait for an ambulance to arrive, the Referee has decided to abandon the match.
We wish the injured player a speedy recovery❤️🩹
Both sets of players were immediately made aware of the severity of the situation and medics were called on to help the injured Non League player.
An ambulance and air ambulance were called to the stadium in South Buckinghamshire to aid Shrimpton, who was eventually taken to a nearby hospital.

However, due to the seriousness of the injury, as well as the wait for the emergency services to arrive, the match was stopped for around 45 minutes, before the referee decided to call off the contest an hour after kick-off.
Only 12 minutes of football were played on the night.
