A GREEN area close to a primary school has become a common dumping ground for dog waste bags.
The green at the bottom of Philip Road in Totteridge in High Wycombe has become so littered with bagged waste that locals have renamed it “poo bag cemetery”.
Lots of small black bags are scattered in the grass angering residents, one of which said it is hazardous to children who play there who also attend nearby Hannah Ball (primary) School.

The parent, who declined to be named, said the problem had been reported to Bucks Council – and asked for dog waste bins to be installed.
They said residents should be enjoying the Spring flowers and should not have to walk through a “disgusting” green made filthy by “irresponsible” people.

“It’s disgusting, irresponsible,” they said. “If you have a dog, you should clean up after it.
“Children should be able to play in the green before and after school without stepping in poo. The green is just yards away from the school entrance.
“We should be enjoying the view of the beautiful Spring flowers and daffodils on the approach to our road and school, instead we have ‘poo bag cemetery’.
“I want the council to address this issue, we don’t have a poo bin anywhere around these streets.”
On social media they added: “Reported to dog warden voicemail. Let’s see what action is taken.”
Another resident responded saying CCTV to catch the offenders may also be an option.
Cllr Nick Naylor, Cabinet Member for Housing and Regulatory Services said: “Following complaints we have visited the site to further investigate and we will follow up information that we have received from the local community. We have also arranged for a litter pick at the site to deal with the immediate issue.
“We recognise that many dog owners act responsibly. We would like to remind residents they are responsible for clearing up after their animal and disposing of the waste appropriately. Where a bin is not provided in the immediate vicinity, it is the legal duty of the person in charge of the dog to take the waste away and to dispose of it at home or in another suitable bin. In certain circumstances the council has powers to take formal action.”
