Police in riot gear broke up 100 ravers partying with what appeared to be thousands of pounds worth of music equipment in woods near Bracknell this afternoon (Sunday).

The Bracknell News understands a generator was hauled through Crowthorne Woods to Devil’s Highway where groups of young men and women danced for hours.

Four people were arrested on suspicion of various offences, including organising a rave, possession of drugs and obstructing police.

A number of vehicles and equipment at the scene have also been seized by the police officers, the force said.

Thames Valley Police dispersed the crowds at around 2pm this afternoon, 14 hours after the rave began, according to Berkshire-based photographer Paul King.

Exclusive photographs taken by Paul King show police armed with batons seizing stacks of amps twice as high as the officers.

The force had to close the A3095, Foresters Way during this operation to keep the public and police officers safe, but the road has now been reopened.

"We would like to thank members of the public for reporting the illegal rave," Thames Valley Police posted on Facebook.
