The boutique hotel Taplow House Hotel in a stunning Bucks location is set to open as a luxury spa.
Sitting on six acres of land only a stone’s throw away from Taplow village and River Thames, the Georgian mansion is currently undergoing a £2 million revamp as part of its rebrand into Taplow House Hotel & Spa.
Following extensive building works throughout the Grade II- listed historical property, the boutique hotel and new spa is set for relaunch this spring, with the spa expected to open in early May.
General manager Jason McDaid said: “Taplow House Hotel & Spa is a precious property, and we are delighted to be unveiling the next chapter in its life with the creation of a luxurious yet relaxing space for our guests.

“The team is excited to be on this new journey to create one of the best premium boutique spa hotels in south-east England, where guests can enjoy flawless standards, impeccable service and beyond-ordinary experiences.”
Building work on the 18th century property’s ground and lower ground floor is on-going.
Further development work will transform the public spaces on the ground-floor with soft furnishing designs from a leading international designer Trevillion Interiors, with the hotel’s reception, dining room, drawing room, bar and terrace area set for renewal.
Once finished, the luxury spa boasts six treatment rooms, a nail bar and pedicure room, relaxation lounge, sauna, glazed conservatory and an outdoor whirlpool.
The four-star mansion also announced the appointment of a new executive chef, Noel Capp – who previously worked at Pinewood Studios, McLaren Technology Centre and Coworth Park, Ascot.
McDaid commented the appointment: “We are thrilled to be welcoming Noel to the team, who joins us at such a special time in the property’s history.
“Noel is an incredibly talented chef with an impressive CV, and we know that his style of cuisine will take the hotel into a fabulous new era of dining at the hotel and spa.”
In addition to the luxury offerings, the property- which remained a family residence until 1958 - has a rich history.
Its former residents include British businessman and politician, Pascoe Grenfell, and Irish peer William O’Brien, Marquess of Thomond.
Cornwall-born Pascoe Grenfell was the mansion’s principal owner during the early 19th century as he served as MP for Great Marlow constituency.
He is said to inspire many of the Taplow House rooms.
Those looking for pampering can choose from a number of spas dotted along beautiful River Thames in Bucks, including The Cliveden Spa at Cliveden House, The Cove Spa near Marlow and Danesfield House Hotel & Spa.
The nearest station in Taplow has direct trains to London Paddington.
