A DENHAM care home for severely disabled adults no longer risks being shut down after dramatically improving.
Poppy Cottage Limited in Denham, Uxbridge, Buckinghamshire, was rated as 'inadequate' after Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspectors visited the care home in July, 2021.
Inspectors had deemed the home ‘inadequate’ as people with autism and learning disabilities were found to be 'at risk of harm' at the time.
Following a reinspection in January 2022 the care home has no longer been rated as inadequate.

The official report is due to appear on the CQC website in due course.
Staff are proud to announce they got the care home "back on track after five months" of hardwork.
Katie Reynolds, Operations Manager, said: "I am pleased to share that our services were reinspected in January 2022 and although the report isn’t available publicly yet we know that we are no longer rated as Inadequate. We were awarded a ‘Good’ in care and are aiming to restore all our Good ratings back later this year.

"Obviously I am bias but I strongly believe that despite the pandemic and issues raised Poppy Cottage is an example of Care that has come back better and stronger than before.
"As a family run business offering Supported Living for adults with learning disabilities we experienced the same challenges of lockdown as many other care providers did however we were often overlooked in favour of care homes, particularly around access to testing and PPE supplies.
"We know that many homes did not survive the pandemic and we were fortunate to be able to employ 5 care staff from one that sadly had to close last year. We have had incredible support from our service users and their families whose real life experiences are testament to the great service we provide them, I have endless emails of support and praise for keeping their loved ones safe and well over the years."
Poppy Cottage Limited has opened a new 10 bedroom house and has a waiting list of new service users excited to move in shortly.
