Greg Hands, the Conservative MP for Chelsea and Fulham and serving Minister for Business, Energy and Clean Growth, took to social media to criticise the Liberal Democrats after seeing their empty Amersham office.
On March 12, the career politician posted a picture of the old Lib Dem office windows on Hill Avenue in Amersham to his more than 43,000 Twitter followers.
The windows appeared taped off for building work and bin bags could be seen outside waiting for collection.
While Mr Hands was born in New York City, he studied at Dr Challoner’s Grammar School in Amersham and completed his education there in 1984.
“I grew up in Amersham & still come to visit my mother”, the Tweet said.

“The LibDem office on Hill Avenue closed the day after the by-election in June and hasn’t reopened since.
“And they actually had the cheek to use the slogan “in touch with you all year round, not just at election time.”"

The constituency’s Liberal Democrat representative Sarah Green MP was elected as the first non-Conservative MP in Chesham and Amersham in June 2021.
She responded to Mr Hands: “Due to the nature of Parliamentary by-elections, it’s common practice for political parties to operate from temporary offices during the campaign and then seek more permanent offices after the election.
“I’m happy to reassure Greg Hands that the new Lib Dem office has been secured in Amersham at Unit 12 of the Chiltern Business Centre on Woodside Road.”
Many social media users replied to Mr Hands' Tweet, which has attracted more than 800 likes and more than 270 replies.
One commentator said: “If you bothered to check her website you'd find details of how to book online surgery appointments: she is not the only MP using Zoom during and "post" (it hasn't gone away) Covid. Keeps her expenses down. Petty point-scoring.”
The social media swipe comes only weeks ahead of the Amersham Town Council Ward by-election on April 7.
Greg, perhaps you would like to tell us where your office is in Kensington & Chelsea so people can stay in touch with you. I've checked your website and it seems as though your constituents have to contact you by email. Surely this can't be true?
