A High Wycombe van driver has been banned from the roads for nearly five years after he was caught drunk behind the wheel.
Darren Henderson, 37, of Parsonage Close, High Wycombe, has been disqualified from driving for four years and 10 months for driving while drunk, disqualified and without insurance.
On August 27, 2021, in Parsonage Close, Henderson was behind the wheel of a Vauxhall Vivaro van when he gave a breath test result of 49 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit is 35 micrograms per 100 millilitres of blood.

It then came to light that Henderson was already disqualified from driving and was also without any kind of vehicle insurance.
On February 25, at Wycombe Magistrates’ Court, Henderson pleaded guilty to counts of drink driving, driving without insurance and driving while disqualified.
The magistrates did not hold back when they sentenced him – Henderson was banned from driving for 58 months and was also ordered to carry out 260 hours of unpaid work within the next year.
He was also told he must carry out a thinking skills programme and was made to pay £180 in costs.
