Amersham Town Football Club was given money with nine others to transform their club facilities after their successful bid to the Buildbase Non-league Club Renovation programme.
The builders’ merchant Buildbase awarded the Club with £10,000 worth of building materials to renovate and extend the club’s 50-year-old kitchen.
The kitchen’s renewal follows a recent refurbishment of the clubhouse on School Lane.
Mike Gahagan, Amersham Town Welfare Officer said: “While we have invested heavily in our facilities to meet this growth including renovating our clubhouse, we did not have the money to refurbish the kitchen.
“The kitchen is now nearly fifty years old and was originally in my house build in 1975 and was moved to the club around 2000.

“As well as showing its age it is also too small for some of our catering needs.”
The busy clubhouse hosts a senior football team, shares facilities with Kings Church Amersham FC (KCAFC), expansion next season as KCAFC launches more teams for girls and clubhouse hires for fitness activities, Mr Gahagan said.
The Buildbase FA Trophy and Vase competition judges chose Amersham Town FC among winners because of the benefit of the project on the club and the wider community.
Martin Bull is Buildbase Procurement Director and judge on the funding panel said: “We had a huge response to our renovation competition this year.
“Amersham Town did a fantastic job of explaining how the bursary would be used and the effect of that on the wider community as well as on their ability to run as a business.
“We look forward to seeing how the project plays out over the coming months.”
