PLANS for a new Wetherspoons at the site of a former restaurant have been submitted.
JD Wetherspoon PLC has submitted to Bucks Council a ‘change of use’ application for the former Prezzo Italian restaurant (12 Station Road) in Beaconsfield New Town.
Plans detail its conversion to a pub/restaurant over two levels, with a new outdoor terrace at the front, and a first-floor terrace at the back (each for seating) partly covered with a glass canopy.
Thirteen parking spaces will be retained, according to a report.
A two-bed flat on the first floor also forms part of the scheme.
Normal opening hours will be Sunday-Thursday, 7am-12am, and Friday-Saturday, 7am-1am.
Sixty new staff will also be hired.
Prezzo closed permanently last year. Then, in October, Wetherspoon confirmed it had bought the building and would spend more than £2 million overhauling it.
“The proposed development will bring back into use a vacant building, thereby supporting the vitality and viability of Beaconsfield town centre in which the site is located,” a planning statement.
