A man was rescued after a fire inside a supported accommodation for men, Old Tea Warehouse, sending the residents on the street on a chilly evening on Thursday February 24.
To tackle the fire at the accommodation on Station Close in High Wycombe, seven fire engines were on the scene and police cordoned off nearby streets opposite the train station.
Ambulance crew treated the rescued man for the effects of breathing in smoke and burns to his hands, the Bucks Fire and Rescue Service said.
While the source of the fire remains unconfirmed, bystanders claimed it may have been caused by an oil pan.

Matty, a chef and a resident on the first floor of Old Tea Warehouse, said: “It was chaos.
“I came back with a friend who lives in the building just opposite and there were six or seven fire engines and four police cars.
“There were around twenty of us stood outside on the street and no one knew where we were going or what was happening.
“Some of us got put into hotels like Premiere Inn and Travelodge but I’m glad I wasn’t because how would you get there, you needed to walk, “Matty, who recently broke his knee, said.

Most people at the three-storey supported accommodation “have got some kind of an addiction”, Matty said.
He’s lived there for six weeks, and as he was on the first-floor, he was able to return after the building was deemed safe by firefighters.
On Friday, there were no signs of fire in the reception of the building nor outside, and friendly staff said everyone was doing fine.

Matty said: “If I’d walk in there right now I wouldn’t know it happened.
People were alerted to the fire on social media, including Matty who saw a post by her mother.
“There’s a café down the corner, they came up with six pizzas and coffees.”
