A VACANT shop in a town could soon become a new “rustic” bar.
Mr Christopher Hall has submitted to Bucks Council a ‘change of use’ application for 14 Station Road, Gerrards Cross.
Plans outline the premises’ conversion to a “craft ale retailer and bar”.

The building around the shop and flats above are known as Marsham Chambers. It is of architectural interest due to its style, design and, particularly, its windows.
However the premises in question, a former shoe shop, “does not appear to have any historic or architectural merits,” documents state.

The owners are locals who already run another business nearby, it is understood.
They want to encourage people into the town after the impact of the pandemic.
“The empty shops are upsetting to see, and they want to encourage people back out to spend time and money reinvigorating the village centre,” a statement.
“They intend to source local breweries and local distilleries, again investing in the growth of new business. It is not the intention to use mass supply products.
“The shop will have a rustic, industrial feel to it, which is in keeping with the surroundings.”
Council officers will now decide what becomes of the application.
