A major road between Princes Risborough and Aylesbury has been closed this afternoon after a tree fell onto a power line.
The A4010 Risborough Road has been shut between Brookside Lane and Grove Lane since 4.30pm on Tuesday afternoon while council and UK Power Networks staff work to fix the damage.
The major road has been closed in both directions to make the site safe for the workers.
A signed diversion route has been put in place, but the council has urged drivers to seek alternate routes as congestion is expected to result from the closure. It is not clear how long the repairs will take.

In a post on social media, Bucks Council said: “Risborough Road (the A4010) will be closed for a period late this afternoon to allow Transport for Buckinghamshire crews, working with UK Power Networks, to clear a tree that’s fallen onto a power line.
“The road will be closed from around 4.30pm between Brookside Lane and Grove Lane (the B4009) to allow the crews to make the area safe.
“A signed diversion will be in place but traffic is expected to be heavy as a result so motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.”
