PLANS for new flats and houses in a ‘flood risk area’ have been submitted.
Mr Mikey Davey has submitted to Bucks Council a listed building application for the overhaul of The Mill House site, a former water mill on Boundary Road, in Loudwater.
Plans detail the conversion of the Grade II-Listed Mill House to six one-bed and three two-bed flats, and construction of a terrace of three three-bed houses (with private gardens) – 12 units in total.
Parking spaces will increase from 12 to 18, with some electric charging points.

It is understood the 4,809 sqm site is currently used for a 590 sqm office. It is also enclosed by industrial uses east and west, and residential north and south.
It is also understood the site is “at risk of flooding”, being next to the River Wye. However, ‘flood risk mitigation measures will have the effect of reducing local flood risk’.

Existing trees on site will be retained and protected as part of the development, documents state.
“The proposed conversion of Mill House would be undertaken without alteration to the external appearance of the listed building and without causing harm to its significance,” it adds.
Council officers will now decide what becomes of the application.
