High Wycombe has been struck by a power cut this afternoon as a part of the aftermath from Storm Eunice.
The power outage took place at around 1pm in parts of central High Wycombe and the villages to the east of the town, including Loudwater, Penn, and parts of Flackwell Heath and Wooburn Green.
HP10 and HP11 postcodes are all affected. Energy provider SSE has apologised for the outage and listed Storm Eunice as the potential reason for the drop in power.
SSE has said that it does not expect power to be restored until 11pm on Tuesday evening (February 22).
The power cut was first reported at around 1pm on Monday afternoon.
In a statement on its website, SSE said: “We’re very sorry for the power cut. As you may have seen in the media, Storm Eunice delivered some of the most adverse conditions we’ve seen in many years, with wind speeds in our region hitting record levels The worst of the weather has passed and it’s now safe for our teams to begin work on repairing and altering our network to get your power back on.
“Our teams will be working day and night to try and get as many power supplies restored as possible, however, depending on the severity of the damage, this may take longer.
“We will do all we can to restore your power throughout the day, but some of these repairs are very complex and require significant effort to restore.”
