The home care provider Ashridge Home Care was shortlisted at a national award ceremony in January, recognising their care work with vulnerable adults.

Ashridge Home Care, whose head offce is centrally located in Amersham, gives tailored one-to-one care for vulnerable people, and continued to do so during the pandemic.

The result? Vulnerable people can continue living at home as the carers visit, provide daily care or even live-in care around the clock.

The celebratory founder of the company Trudi Scrivener said: “It’s always fantastic to be recognised by experts within the care sector but I am particularly pleased to have been shortlisted alongside fellow home care services of such great calibre.

“At long last home care is being recognised nationally as one of the safest and best possible forms of care and these awards help bring hardworking individuals to the fore.

After a trying time for everyone in the sector, awards like this can help remind people how important home care is “so we can lobby for appropriate recognition and financial reward for carers”, Ms Scrivener said.

She added: “These types of awards go a long way towards lobbying government to recognise the worth of the care industry and how it can help alleviate pressure on the NHS and other services and keep people happy and healthy in their own homes for as long as possible.”

When the winners are announced on April 1 at a ceremony in Birmingham, the Amersham company could win big in three shortlist categories: recruitment, retention and staff motivation expertise; best independent home care provider and live-in care expertise.
