A drug dealer who was caught red-handed by police during a cocaine deal in Bucks has been jailed.

Harry Penny, 27, of Gunness Close, Hayes, has been jailed for one year and six months after he admitted to one count of possession with intent to supply cocaine.

On September 18, 2020, police officers travelling along Thorney Mill Road in Iver spotted a blue Volkswagen Touran with two men inside going in the opposite direction.

The officers turned around in their car with the intention of pulling over the VW, but as they approached the junction to Thorney Lane South, they saw the VW had pulled up alongside a blue Ford Focus.

The officers watched on as the driver lifted his arm out of the open window and dropped an item into the palm of the Ford driver.

When the police approached, the suspect had £120 in cash in his lap. When the officers asked why he had it, he said the other man was “giving me some money he owed me.”

Searching the vehicles, police found two iPhones in the VW and two wraps of cocaine in the Ford. Police dogs attended and discovered a secret compartment in the VW, revealing cash, suspected class A drugs and a Citroen car key.

After he was arrested, Penny pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply a class A drug and was sentenced at Aylesbury Crown Court on Thursday 10 February.

Detective Constable Kerry Hall, of the Priority Crime Team, based at Amersham police station, said: “Drug supply will not be tolerated by Thames Valley Police and I hope this sentence reflects the seriousness of this offending.

“Through Stronghold, we are committed to working in partnership to tackle serious organised crime and exploitation, such as county lines drug dealing.

“We continue to need the support of the public in this, and we would ask them to report any information that they have about drug dealing.

“This can be shared with Thames Valley Police on our website or by calling 101.

“You can also report information anonymously by calling independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
