Milton Keynes College has issued a statement to the public after a serious incident near their campus.
Emergency services remain on scene this evening following a police incident outside their Chaffron Way site.
Thames Valley Police are yet to confirm the exact details around the incident but have warned the public against sharing videos on social media.
Addressing the public, a college spokesman said: "Police and ambulance services have been on the scene immediately and we believe the situation to be contained and have therefore not been advised to close the campus at this time.
"We know at this stage that colleagues and students both witnessed the incident and helped to provide emergency first aid, they are being supported by our counselling teams.
"Whilst this incident did not happen on our campus, we do know that the fact it was witnessed by college students will heighten anxiety and feelings of being unsafe.
"We will therefore be increasing leadership presence and security at our Chaffron Way campus next week to help to provide reassurance.
"We will of course update you as we have more information."
Tonight, a large area close to the college remains cordoned off with a blue tent erected. Meanwhile, forensic officers are scouring the area.
