A supermarket could see a new 24-hour drive-thru restaurant built in its car park.
Euro Garages Ltd (EG Group) has submitted to Bucks Council plans for a new mystery restaurant in part of the customer parking area at ASDA on Crest Road in High Wycombe.
The application details a 208 sqm single-storey building ‘to be used as both a restaurant and hot food takeaway, incorporating a drive-thru’.

The 1,548 sqm site forms part of the existing customer car park for ASDA, documents indicate.
As a result, available parking spaces will be reduced from 557 bays to 511.
Vehicle access will be from the ASDA car park, via Crest Road.

The new restaurant will trade 24 hours a day and create up to 40 jobs.
Documents do not appear to reveal who the new tenant will be.
It is understood EG Group bought ASDA Stores Ltd in June 2021. EG Group is owned by the billionaire brothers Mohsin and Zuber Issa, who also bought fast food chain Leon for £100 million just months after – although it has not been confirmed if this new restaurant will be a Leon or not.
“The ASDA store benefits from an excess in car parking space, the development of an element of the car park as proposed will have no impact on the day-to-day operation of the supermarket. The restaurant and food store will share parking spaces to ensure that both the superstore and the drive-thru restaurant unit benefit from ample parking provision,” a planning document.
The applicant is now awaiting a decision from Bucks Council.
