Thames Valley Police had the opportunity to celebrate officers and staff awarded Shrievalty Awards as Easthampstead Park, Wokingham, finally hosted the 2020 ceremony.
Two years overdue, the Covid-19 pandemic meant that the last two ceremonies were unable to take place. but Tuesday, February 1 gave the winners the opportunity to collect their awards.
The Shrievalty Merit Awards give the force the opportunity to recognise outstanding work by officers and staff.
Three teams were selected as the 2020 Shrievalty Award winners.
Winning a Team Award was the Thames Valley Women’s Network (TVWN) Executive.
It’s made up of officers and staff from across the force, who are committed to improving the working environment of women and maximising the potential of women within Thames Valley Police, through connecting with each other as well as supporting and inspiring each other.
Furthermore, the TVWN has also implemented a number of schemes aimed at supporting women through different stages of their life.
For example, pregnancy, maternal mental health, miscarriage, infertility and menopause.

Also winning an award were Oxford City Problem Solving Team.
The team, made up of 17 officers and police staff, have worked exceptionally hard over a four- year period to reduce crime in Oxford.
Finally, the third Team Award was Economic Crime Unit (ECU).
DI Duncan Wynn has led the ECU through a re-structure whilst making sure that the team continually delivered an outstanding quality of work for the force.
Within the Unit, he transformed the Action Fraud Team to create a new Criminal Finance Team making the work carried out by the unit more effective and efficient.
After much delay, the winners of the 2021 Shrievalty Awards are also set to be revealed soon.
